We’re all very familiar with seeing male friendships that are about punching each other on the shoulder and bros. And this (film) is a really gentle feeling, sensitive, platonic male love story. And I think that I don’t think we see many. We don’t always see male relationships portrayed that way, and I loved that.
Because that’s who I am. As a man, I’m very tactile and affectionate with my friends, very millennial and very comfortable with telling them how much I love them.
And I think it’s really nice to see that portrayed on screen, let young men know that it’s cool and good to tell each other that you love one another, and that’s not a weakness, that’s not something that you’re not losing face doing them.
